The President of the University of Ilorin Student Union, Mr Victor O. Agezeh, has lauded the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, on the renovation of two of the institution’s halls of residence.

Mr Agezeh gave this commendation last Friday (April 4, 2025) in a telephone chat with UNILORIN Bulletin.

The Student Union leader said that the decision to renovate the Lagos Male and Female Hostels was thoughtful and timely as he said that the renewal of the facilities therein would enhance the comfortability of students who reside in them.

Mr Agezeh, who is a final year student of the Department of Accounting, said that as a former resident of the Lagos Male Hostel, he is convinced that the renovation is the best thing that could happen to the facility.

He added that the renovation, apart from improving the aesthetic value of the campus, would also stimulate quality learning among occupants of the hostels.

Mr Agezeh also gave a thumb-up to the University Administration for the renovation of some segments of the institution’s academic areas, saying that the renovation of the 10 blocks accommodating a few Faculties and Departments would also enhance service delivery on the part of staff as it will also stimulate a conducive learning environment among students.

He urged the University Administration to extend the renovation to other public hostels and facilities in the University to ensure a better teaching and learning environment.

Mr Agezeh also appealed to students to use the renovated facilities with care to ensure their durability and to encourage the Administration to do more.
