The University of Ilorin’s Governing Council has commended the outstanding contributions of its immediate past Deputy Vice-Chancellors, Professors Olubunmi Abayomi Omotesho and Suleiman Folorunsho Ambali, to the institution’s growth and progress.
The Secretary to the Governing Council and Registrar, Mr Mansur Adeleke Alfanla, conveyed the Council’s appreciation through a letter dated February 25, 2025. Professor Omotesho served as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), while Professor Ambali was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Management Services).



In a letter to Professor Omotesho, the Registrar praised his guidance, which has led to significant advancements in curriculum development, research, and student affairs. The Registrar also commended Professor Omotesho’s ability to promote collaboration and provide mentorship to students and staff.
A separate letter to Professor Ambali acknowledged his successful implementation of initiatives that have enhanced the efficiency and effectiveness of the university’s management services. The Registrar also recognised Professor Ambali’s exemplary collaboration with other members of the university community.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Wahab Egbewole, SAN, presented the letters on Tuesday (February 25, 2025), stating that the Governing Council was impressed by the diligent service of both professors.
