The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has congratulated the Director of the Quality Assurance Unit, Prof. Abdulrazak Abdulmajeed Alaro, on his recent appointment as Chairman of the National Insurance Commission’s Takaful Advisory Council.

This was conveyed via a letter signed by the Registrar, Mr. Mansur Alfanla, dated February 17, 2025.

In the letter, made available to UNILORIN Bulletin last Wednesday (February 19, 2025), Mr. Alfanla emphasised the significance of this new role, stating, “This is a landmark achievement and a testament to your dedication and expertise in advancing Takaful Insurance in Nigeria and beyond.”

The letter added that “this acknowledgment highlights not only Prof. Alaro’s professional accomplishments but also underscores the importance of Takaful Insurance within the Nigerian financial landscape.”

The Vice Chancellor expressed confidence in Prof. Alaro’s capabilities as a Professor of Islamic Law and that he will continue to demonstrate exemplary leadership qualities, which he said, are essential for fostering growth and development within both the University and the broader context of Nigeria’s insurance sector. The letter added that the University management is optimistic that Prof. Alaro will leverage his new position to contribute significantly to advancements in Takaful Insurance while also enhancing the reputation and impact of the University of Ilorin.
