The University of Ilorin has emerged as the winner of the World Cancer Day Presentation Competition, organised by the Kwara State Ministry of Health in collaboration with the Office of the First Lady of Kwara State.
Representing the University was Aminu Habeeb Abiodun, the Student Union Welfare Secretary (COHS), who won the First Lady’s Prize for Cancer Awareness in recognition of his outstanding performance. His presentation, which focused on debunking common myths about cancer, helped dispel several widespread misconceptions in the society.
The University of Ilorin team also included the Students’ Union Vice President (COHS), Olukorode Sarah Oreoluwa; the Assistant General Secretary, Ganiyu Rahma Olubukola; and members of the Faculty of Life Sciences Central Executive Council, led by the Vice President, Sharon Oluwadara. Other tertiary institutions that participated in the competition were the Kwara State University, Malete; the College of Nursing, Ilorin; and Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin.
