The Senate of the University of Ilorin has conferred the prestigious title of Emeritus Professor on three recently retired professors of the institution

The conferment was made at the 304th (Special) Meeting of the University Senate, held on Thursday (January 23, 2025).

After a rigorous selection process, which saw 24 applications received, three distinguished scholars emerged successful. They are:

1. Prof. Is-haq Olarewaju Oloyede of the Department of Religions, Faculty of Arts

2. Prof. Olu Obafemi of the Department of English, Faculty of Arts

3. Prof. Musbau Adewumi Akanji of the Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Life Sciences

The title of Emeritus Professor is a mark of excellence and a recognition of the outstanding contributions of these scholars to their respective fields and the university community.

The University of Ilorin congratulates these distinguished scholars on this well-deserved recognition.
