Encomiums as family, friends celebrate Ameen brothers’ elevation

The Registrar of the University of Ilorin, Mr Mansur Adeleke Alfanla, has described the elevation of two siblings, Prof. Ahmed Oloduowo Ameen and Prof. Mubarak Oloduowo Ameen, to the exalted rank of Professor as a monumental achievement not only in the careers of the duo but also in the annals of the University.

Mr Alfanla stated this last Monday (January 1, 2024) while speaking at the special thanksgiving prayer organised to celebrate  the  elevation of the two professors held at Oloduowo Compound, Off Pakata Road, Ilorin.

The Registrar congratulated the two gentlemen for attaining the pinnacle of their careers as he said that they have worked hard to achieve their present position.

Mr Alfanla added that he was grateful to God Almighty that he was privileged to know about their first appointments and that he had been following their careers since then.

According to him, “l attended the same primary and secondary schools with Prof. Ahmed Oloduowo Ameen while the second Professor is also my brother with whom I have been relating for many years”.

The Registrar described their promotion as well-deserved, noting that the only coincidence is that it is always rare for siblings to become Professors on the same day.

He explained that that was the first time that such would happen in the history of the University of Ilorin and that of Ilorin Emirate as a community..

Mr Alfanla urged other staff members of the University not to relent in their efforts, stressing that ‘‘nothing is difficult for Allah to do, If you continue to pray to Allah, your prayer would be answered one day by Him’’.
