Dr Abiodun Oyetunji Shittu is a pharmacist. He graduated from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences in 1990. He received his M.Sc. Pharmaceutics in 2007, followed by Ph.D Pharmaceutics in 2012 from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences. During his Ph.D studies, he was employed in the Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Jos as a Lecturer II in 2009. He rose to Lecturer I in 2012. In 2014/2015, he was employed as a Sabbatical Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences as a pioneer Acting Head of Department of Pharmaceutical Microbiology and Biotechnology. In 2015, he was employed as a tenure staff of the department as a Senior Lecturer. In 2016, he was redeployed as the Acting Head of the Department of Pharmaceutics and Industrial Pharmacy. He is currently holding this position for 2020/2021 academic session. He also doubles as the Postgraduate Coordinator from 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 session. He is involved in developing and delivering Pharmaceutics courses for undergraduates and postgraduates in University of Ilorin, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences. As a member of the teaching team in University of Ilorin, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, he has contributed in delivering modules in undergraduate and postgraduate degree pharmacy programmes. Dr. Abiodun Oyetunji Shittus main research interest focuses on design and formulation of controlled drug delivery system.He has been Special Guest Lecturer at annual lectures organized by Association of Industrial Pharmacist Kwara State Branch. Dr Abiodun Oyetunji Shittu is a member of the Nigeria Association of Pharmacists in Academia (NAPA) and Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) with publications in reputable peer reviewed local and international journals.
