“BIODATA OF PROF. WAHAB EGBEWOLE
Wahab Egbewole is a legal practitioner and academic. He was called to the Nigerian Bar as a Solicitor and Advocate on 20th August, 1985 he is a holder of Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Law. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Jurisprudence and International Law. He served in various capacities in the Faculty including the office of Sub-Dean, Head of Department and later as the Acting Dean of Law, University of Ilorin between 2010 & 2012. He is a member of the Governing Council of University of Ilorin representing the Senate and Director of General Studies Unit. He is a member of several learned societies including American Society of International Law, International Bar Association, British Institute of International and Comparative Law, Law and Society Association Society for Peace Studies and Practice and Nigerian Bar Association to mention a few. At the 2015 International Bar Association held in Vienna, Austria he was unanimously elected as Newsletter Editor of the IBA Committee on Negligence and Damages. In January, 2018, he was elected the Vice-Chair of the same Committee for two years and in 2020 he became the Chair of the Committee for another two years. He has published widely in the areas of Jurisprudence and Legal Theory, Juvenile Justice, Child Rights, Public International Law, Judicial Process, Law and Development and has many books in his name including Jurisprudence of Election Petitions by the Nigerian Court of Appeal published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing in Germany and Law and Sustainable Development published by Grosvenor Publishers, London, Judicial Independence in Africa published by Wildy, Simmonds & Hill Publishing, London and Education Law, Strategic Policy and Sustainable Development in Africa-Agenda 2063 Published by Palgrave Macmillan, Switzerland. He has attended several conferences including those of American Society of International Law, International Bar Association, Law and Society Association, Society for Peace Studies and Practice and Nigerian Bar Association to mention a few. He served in Executive positions of many learned societies including Vice-Chair, International Bar association, Chairman Ilorin Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association and Chairman University of Ilorin Branch of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, Coordinator, CRN47 Law and Society Association to mention just a few. He is serving as External Examiner in a few Universities across the continent. He was recently appointed as Academic Auditor by the Faculty of Law, University of Cape Coast, Ghana. He has represented and still representing high networth clients in various superior courts in Nigeria.
