Profile of the Head of Department
Dr. Lambe Kayode Mustapha is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication, University of Ilorin. He holds Bachelor and Master Degrees in Mass Communication from the prestigious University of Lagos and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Communication from International Islamic University (IIUM) Malaysia. He was a Post-Doctoral Teaching Fellow at the School of Communication Universiti Sains Malaysia.
Dr. Mustapha is a Scientific Advisor and a member of the Consultant Team with the Department of Mass Communication, Faculty of Philology, Rudn University, Moscow, Russia, member Board of Trustees, Sobi FM, Ilorin, and an examiner with National Open University of Nigeria. He has consulted and still consulting for several governmental and nongovernmental organisations, including Ministry of Environment, Kwara State, International Institute of Journalism, National Association of Nurses and Midwives, Kwara State Chapter and National Private Nurses and Midwives of Nigeria, among others. He is also a visiting scholar in Kwara State University and Summit University Offa, Kwara State.
He has supervised various undergraduate and postgraduate projects and has taught numerous undergraduate and postgraduate courses. His research interests include Political Communication, Integrated Marketing Communication, Media Effects Research and Social Media Studies.
A prolific writer, an award- winning scholar and a consummate academic, Dr. Mustapha is a member of Learned and Professional Societies among which are African Council for Communication Education (ACCE), Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), and Association of International Mass Communication Research (AIMCR).
Dr. Mustapha had also served the Department, Faculty and University in various capacities and is a member of different local and international Editorial Boards. He is an internationally published scholar with many high-impact, top quality peer-reviewed journals and conferences to his credit. A fantastic family man, Dr. Mustapha is currently the Head of Department of Mass Communication at the University of Ilorin.
