Dr. Halimat Amin Abdulrahim is a registered Medical Doctor. Her career includes experiences in Privates and Public sectors as well as the Academia. She attended L.S.M.B Ansaru-Primary School Oke-male Ilorin from 1979-1984 and served as female class representative. She proceeded to Government Girls ‘Day Secondary School, Okesuna, Ilorin from 1984 to 1987 and Queen Elizabeth School, Ilorin from 1988 to 1990 for her post-primary education.
Dr. Halimat Amin Abdulrahim holds a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery(MBBS, 2003) from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, M.Sc in Health Planning and Management (MHPM, 2013) from University of Maiduguri, M.Sc in Biochemistry (2018) from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomoso, and Ph.D in view in the same institution. She also holds a PGD in Education (2019) from Nigerian Teachers Institute, Kaduna.
She began her working career in 2004 with University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, Maiduguri (intership) as an house officer. She was Exempted from the one year compulsory NYSC programme (2005). She joined Sunni Hospital, Maiduguri where she served as a Medical Officer and Facilitator to Traditional Birth Attendant (2005). She left this private appointment to work with University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (2006) as a Medical Officer and subsequently moved to Department of Paediatrics (2009) as a Registrar to pursue residency training.
Dr. Halimat Amin Abdulrahim joined the service of the University of Ilorin, Nigeria in 2014 as Lecturer ll and upgraded to Lecturer l following completion and approval of her M.Sc in Biochemistry (2018). Dr. Halimat Amin Abdulrahim has attended many local conference, seminars and workshops where she presented papers in her field of study, among which she was awarded’’ 2nd Best oral presentation at Neuroscience Society of Nigeria (NSN) Dutse 2018’’at 16th National Scientific Conference and Annual General Meeting. She has published articles in renowned journals with outstanding teaching, research and community services
