Brief Profile of Dr. Fausat Lola KOLAWOLE

Dr. Fausat Lola Kolawole was born at Offa, Kwara State on 16th August, 1964. She had her primary education at Adeola Model School, Offa, Kwara State and Offa Grammar School, Offa for her secondary education. She later proceeded to University of Maiduguri, Maiduguri for her Bachelor’s degree programme. Similarly, she attended University of Ilorin, Ilorin, for her Master’s degree and Ladoke Akintola University of Technolgy, Ogbomoso, for her Ph.D. degree. Currently, she is a Senior Lecturer and Head of Department of Home Economics and Food Science. She won the Second-Best Award at the 4th Annual Meeting of the Sweet potato for Profit and Health initiative (SPH) – Orange Fleshed Sweet Potato (OFSP) Marketing, Processing and Utilization Community of Practice (MPU-CoP) held in Kisumu, Kenya between 1st and 3rd March, 2017, and also the Small Grants for Theses and Dissertations Award by Association of African Universities Association (Des UniversitésAfricaines) (AAU) for 2014/2015 academic year. She is a specialist in Food Biochemistry and Nutrition, New Food Product Development for Functional and Therapeutic Purposes with special interest in promotion of Orange Fleshed Sweet Potato (OFSP) in diets therapy for children and adults. Dr. Kolawoleis a member of the Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology (NIFST).  

Before joining the services of University of Ilorin on 19th June, 2008, she had worked at Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, Kwara State (1998-2008) where she served as Head of Department and in some other capacities. She has attended several international and local conferences, workshops, seminars and trainings. Dr. Kolawole is happily married and blessed with children.
