About Department of Agronomy

The Faculty of Agriculture was established in 1982/83 academic session with four Departments (Agricultural Economic and Farm Mgt, Agricultural Extension and Rural Development, Animal Production and Crop Production) with the structure to offer one Degree Programme i.e Bachelor of Agriculture (B.Agric.). However, a proposal was presented to University Administration in 2004 for the splitting of the then Department of Crop Production into three; Agronomy, Soil Science and Crop Protection & Environmental  Studies.
