FACULTY OF LAW ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

DIRECT ENTRYUTME
 COMMON LAW (i) At least two A’ level passes in Arts or Social Science subjects. (ii) First Degree (Second Class Lower) of an accredited University. (iii) Diploma (Upper Credit Grade) in Law Five O’level credit passes to include English Language, Literature – in – English, Mathematics and any other two Arts or Social Science subjects.             Literature-in-English and any two other Arts/or Social Science subjects.DIRECT ENTRY(i) UNILORIN accepts passes in the following:(a) HND (excluding Secretarial Studies);(b) ACIS;.(c) ACA, AIB.       (d)  Other full qualifications in Accountancy(e) LL.B (UNIVERSITY OF LONDON)(f) Two year Diploma in Social Works (credit)(g) Two year Diploma in Law of an accredited Government Institution with at least Upper Credit grade.(h) A’ level pass in English Literature may be considered in lieu of O’level requirement in Literature-in-English(i) A Pass grade in O’Level Mathematics is required. (j) Degree holders need not possessLiterature-in-English and Mathematics.(k) Where a Diploma is of four grades:-Distinction, Credit, Merit and Pass – Credit grade is accepted for Direct Admission. (ii)  UNILORIN accepts A’ level English Literature in lieu of Literature-in-English. Also accepts Commercial subjects.UTME. SUBJECTS:UNILORIN requires Literature-in-English plus any two subjects.
 COMMON AND ISLAMIC LAW(i) At Least A’ level passes or equivalent in Arts/Social Sciences subjects.(ii) Diploma in Law  (Upper credit)(iii) Relevant degree of an accredited University.(iv)  NCE with Arabic or Islamic Studies as  major.Five O’level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Islamic Studies or Arabic and any other two subjects in Arts or Social Sciences. Arabic or Islamic Studies and any two other Arts/Social Science subjects.DIRECT ENTRY UNILORIN requires Distinction or Credit grade where a Diploma is of Distinction, Credit, Merit and Pass grades 

The Faculty of Law of this University offers two degree programmes, namely,
(a) LL.B (Hons) Common Law
(b) LL.B (Hons) Common & Islamic Law.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

The admission requirements into the faculty are as follows:
A- LL. B (HONS) COMMON LAW
U.T.M.E. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
i. Five (5) O’ level (SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB,etc.) credit passes in Arts/Social Sciences/Commercial subjects including English Language, Literature in English and Mathematics.
ii. Candidate should offer any three Art or Social Science subjects including Literature in English.

DIRECT ENTRY
i. At least, two ‘A’ Level passes in GCE/IJMB/JUPEP or its equivalent in Arts or Social Science subjects; or
ii. Diploma in Law (Upper Credit) from recognised institutions; or
iii. First degree from a recognised University;
iv. The following qualifications may be considered in lieu of ‘A’ Level subjects for Direct entry admission, H.N.D., A.C.I.S., ACA, A.C.C., LL. B (Inter) of University of London and N.C.E.;
v. Such Candidate must meet the UTME entry requirements stated above; and
vi. Degree holders need not possess Literature in English.

B- LL.B (HONS) COMMON AND ISLAMIC LAW
U.T.M.E. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
i. Five (5) O’ level (SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB, etc.) credit passes in Arts/Social Sciences subjects including English language, Arabic or Islamic Studies and Mathematics.
ii. Candidate should offer any three Arts or Social Science Subjects which must include Arabic or Islamic Studies.

DIRECT ENTRY
i. At least, two ‘A’ Level passes in GCE/IJMB/JUPEP or its equivalent in Arts or Social Science subjects one of which must include Arabic or Islamic Studies; or
ii. Diploma in Law (Upper Credit) from recognised institutions; or
iii. First Degree from a recognised university; or
iv. The following qualifications may be considered in lieu of “A” Level Subjects for Direct Entry Admissions, HND., A.C.I.S., ACA, A. C. C., LL.B (Inter) of University of London and NCE; or
v. Such candidate must meet the UTME entry requirements stipulated above.
