Egbewole hails Alooma on global awards
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has commended the Station Manager of UNILORIN 89.3 FM, Mr Idris Akintola Ibrahim (Alooma), for always attracting glory to the University.
Prof. Egbewole made this commendation last Monday (October 7, 2024) while receiving the two global awards recently won by Mr Ibrahim in his office.
The Vice Chancellor said that the two awards were well deserved, saying that the seasoned broadcaster has always been on top of his game.
Prof. Egbewole described the renowned broadcaster as an outstanding media professional who has been a pride to the University over the years.
Speaking earlier, the Director of Corporate Affairs, University of Ilorin, Mr Kunle Akogun, who led the awardee to the Vice Chancellor’s Office, commended Prof. Egbewole for his support to the UNILORIN FM and the Directorate of Corporate Affairs at large.
Mr Akogun noted that the Vice Chancellor’s generous support has always encouraged the staff members of the Directorate to be more alert to their responsibilities and always strive to be on top of their games.
The Director explained that he felt that it was important to lead the awardee to present his awards to the Vice Chancellor as a mark of gratitude to Prof . Egbewole for his consistent support.
Mr Akogun, who described the Head of UNILORIN FM as an enterprising professional and an asset to the University, assured the Vice Chancellor that his Directorate would continue to make him and the University proud.
Others who accompanied the General Manager to the Office of the Vice Chancellor were the Head of the Yoruba Unit of the Station, Mr George Adebisi Adenle; the Deputy Editor, UNILORIN Bulletin, Mr Abubakar Imam, and Mr Bashir Dawodu, an Information Officer at the Directorate.
In a related development, the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) has also felicitated the seasoned broadcaster on the awards.
The National President of the Union, Alhaji Abdulmumini Ayo Abdulmalik, in a statement signed by its spokesman, Mr Nurudeen Ibrahim, described the awards as well-deserved as he wished Mr Ibrahim a more successful and rewarding career.
Also, the Ilorin Branch of the Federated Ife Descendants Union (FIDU) has saluted the way Mr Ibrahim often deployed profound knowledge and wisdom in the discharge of his responsibilities.
The President of the Union, Pa Gabriel Akintilo, said that the people of Ife Kingdom were very delighted and proud to be associated with Mr Ibrahim on the prestigious awards conferred on him in appreciation of his professional excellence.
The FIDU President, who described Mr Ibrahim as an excellent ambassador of the Ife Kingdom, wished the ace broadcaster more successes.
