Abubakar Sidiq IMAM is a journalist, public relations expert and community development practitioner, who earned a B.Sc (Second Class Upper Division) degree in Mass Communication from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria,in 1998,and Master in Industrial and Labour Relations(MILR) from the University of Ilorin in 2009.

Imam is a Principal Information Officer and Deputy Editor of the weekly UNILORIN BULLETIN and the annual UNILORIN STAR,which are publications of the Directorate of Corporate Affairs, University of Ilorin. He is also the producer and presenter of “The Administrator”, a programme of UNILORIN 89.3 FM,the official radio station of the University of Ilorin. He joined the services of the University in 2016.

An award-winning journalist and versatile writer,Imam has created a niche for himself through hard work and professionalism as epitomised in detailed and prompt reportage of events and personalities associated with the University of Ilorin.

He is a self-motivated professional who is also blessed with enormous team spirit. He is adept in learning, focussed and resourceful and one of those whose works have defined the milestones of his Unit and the University.

Imam has covered many important events and interviewed prominent figures within and outside the University. Many of his reports have graced the front pages of the University’s news publications and have been used on the University radio station. He has also published articles in major newspapers and magazines and has become an influential resource person on the annals and people of the University’s host community from where he hails and which supreme sociocultural organisation he serves as National Publicity Secretary.
