A -2 DAY INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON THE PRODUCTION OF BIODIESEL AND OTHER ALLIED PRODUCTS FROM JATROPHA PLANT FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
Welcome to the International workshop on the Production of biodiesel and other allied products from Jatropha plant to be held between 6th and 7th April, 2010.
The event will bring together all stakeholders on alternative energy all over the globe to highlight the importance of biodiesel and other allied products from Jatropha plant, identification and development of workplan with strategies and actions to fully integrate biodiesel into our agenda in Nigeria.

What is the event?
A-2 day event which will focus on the following vital areas: - The role of Jatropha curcas plant in the production of biodiesel
- The role of Jatropha curcas plant in militating against climate change
- Future scenario of Jatropha curcas plant in rural development, economic empowerment and food security
- Various economic importance of Jatropha curcas plant
WHY THIS EVENT? There is global warming due to various factors among which are: - environmental pollution caused by smokes from vehicles and generators that use fossil fuel
- increasing deforestation for fuel wood
- The event is vital due to constraints in the supply of fossil fuel
- Finally, it could also be due to obsolete power energy infrastructures
WHO NEEDS TO ATTEND
It is open to Policy makers, Rural development practioners, Agriculturists, Engineers, Civil society, Chemists, Biochemists, Health officers, Industrialists, Entrepreneurs and Businessmen/women
