REGISTRATION PROCEDURE FOR FRESH STUDENTS (FOR THE NEWLY ADMITTED)

· Note that no Candidate can be registered by proxy. All Candidates are therefore advised to personally enter their details as the University will not be liable for any misrepresentation of details including fund.

· Freshers are to be informed that a dummy matriculation list would be generated after their registration. It is mandatory that this list is signed by students as the issuance of matriculation number depends on the signature please.


STEP I:              ADMISSION STATUS CHECK

                             Candidates are to visit www.unilorin.edu.ng to check their admission status (click here).

a.          Candidates are to check their admission status on the admission list. Once admission status has been confirmed, click here to download the 2009/2010 Admission Screening Form for Fresher’s.  Attach the following documents:

  • One recent passport photograph to be attached to the form
  • Original JAMB result (UME)
  • Direct Entry online registration printout
  • Direct Entry “A” Level result (NCE; IJMB, NABTEB, ND, HND etc)
  • O’ Level result (WAEC, GCE, NECO, NABTEB, TC II Etc)
  • State of Origin Certificate
  • Birth Certificate
b.         Proceed immediately to the designated Venue of your proposed faculty for screening of the above documents where a clearance certificate will be issued to you, between 8a.m to 5p.m, Monday to Saturday.

   
           

STEP 2:           AUTHENTICATION OF STUDENT AND GENERATION OF LOGIN DETAILS
           
a. (i)     If cleared by Admissions Office – go back to the University website to commence registration. Click Unilorin portal on the Home Page under Quick Links using your JAMB Registration Number and Surname to log in.  This is what is known as initial login details.

   (ii)     If not prima-facie qualified for the course for which you originally applied for, you await the movement list which would be available online and can be accessed the same way you accessed your admission status.


b.         A template for Biodata would be displayed, which you would be expected to fill truthfully Please see note in Step I above. You will be required to change your initial Password from your Surname to a new one which should be confidential. In case you forget your password, the password recovery is available online after payment of necessary charges on the Home page of the Portal. Please be mindful of the spellings and arrangements of your names, as this would be used through out your stay in the University.  You are however not allowed to change your name on the Portal as this must tally with those on your credentials. Your passport picture which should be scanned should be against a red background which would show your face clearly. (132 by 18 Pixel). Please note that your signature which will also be scanned should be on a white background


STEP 3:           COURSE  REGISTRATION

After the completion of step 2, click on CONTINUE to proceed with your course registration or if you logout, return to the portal using your customized details chosen in 2c above .

  1. Select your courses as listed and print the payment advice (see details on step 4).  
  2. Complete your payment online, print the payment receipt and your completed Course Registration Forms in five copies for the signature of your Level Adviser and the Faculty Officer. Note that you need to attach a copy of your payment receipt to your Course Registration Form before endorsement. The Faculty Officer will return a copy to you, and then distribute others appropriately.

Please note that your registration is not complete even after submission online until your forms are endorsed by your Level adviser and Faculty officer within the registration period.


STEP 4:           PAYMENTS & GENERATION OF CARD DETAILS

a.         To pay all necessary charges (University based, Faculty and Department, Associations) and levies etc, click the link to access payment information.
b.         customized details of all charges known as payment advice will be displayed which you will be required to print out.  This detail would include charges for change of course (due to movement) which would be applicable to under 2 a(ii)
c.         Click on the provided link to generate and print out payment card details.
d.         Load your e-payment card at any of the approved Commercial Banks (click here to see list of authorized banks where you can load money to your Payment Card after generation on the Unilorin Portal).  This should be to the tune of payment advice printed out in 3(b) above.
e.         Students are advised in their own interest to beware of fraudsters in the handling of their e-payment card.

The University of Texas at Austin and Dell are searching for student social entrepreneurs all over the world to dream up ingenious ideas to change the world.

College students worldwide are invited to enter the 2010 Dell Social Innovation Competition for a chance to win $50,000 to turn their ideas into a new business or nonprofit with a mission to change lives for the better.

The deadline to enter is March 1, 2010. Students can submit their ideas online at http://www.dellsocialinnovationcompetition.com.
