Oloyede stresses relevance of religious studies

he Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede,  has emphasised that the study of religion in general, and the Qur’an/ Arabic in particular, is indispensable to the attainment of development especially in the present world where globalisation seems to be eroding values and virtues.

 

Prof. Oloyede, who is also the National Co-ordinator and Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Inter-religious Council (NIREC),  made this observation  at the occasion of Walimatul Qur‘an  (Qu’ranic Graduation Ceremony) of the pupils of the University Senior Staff Quarters Qur’anic School penultimate Sunday (February 28, 2010).
