Department of Zoology

The department of Zoology was one of the three departments that emerged in
2004 from the erstwhile department of Biological Sciences, one of the foundation departments of University of Ilorin in 1976.

Information about Students
Student Enrolment in the department indicated thatTwo hundred and twenty nine (229) students  are in 100 Level, Eighty five (85) in 200 Level, while One hundred and twenty eight (128) are in 300 level and One hundred and Seventy four (174) are in 400 Level giving a total of Six hundred and sixteen (616) students in the Undergraduate Programme.

At Postgraduate level, fourteen students (14) are registered for M.Sc programme, while three (3) are currently on the Ph.D Programme.

Resources
The Department has a Biological Garden with various animals in captivity and ornamental plants. The Garden is open to visitors for picnic, sightseeing. It is available for teaching, and research.
