Invitation to Graduates of Unilorin to Collect their Degree Certificates

The University Administration, on behalf of Senate, has decided to take an audit of all Degree and Diploma certificates in its custody.  To this end, all graduates of the University of Ilorin, from 1977 to 2006, who, for one reason or the other, have not claimed their certificates, are hereby called upon to collect them between Monday, 16th and Monday, 30th June, 2008.

Certificates can be collected from the Faculty stand at the University of Ilorin Alumni Building, Main Campus from Monday to Friday on the dates stipulated above (except Saturdays and Sundays) from 9.00 a.m. – 5.00 p.m. daily.

Failure to collect the certificates within the stipulated period will attract a penalty of N50.00 per day.  The penalty period stipulated for collection shall be from Tuesday, 1st to 15th July, 2008, after which all unclaimed certificates would be disposed of.  For those who reside outside the country or are unable to personally collect their certificates, collection by proxy will be allowed, under the following conditions:

  1. proxy should not be below the rank of a Permanent Secretary in the Federal or State Civil Service or its equivalent in a parastatal;
  2. a First-class Traditional Ruler;
  3. a retired or serving Major-General or equivalent in any of the Nigerian Armed Forces;
  4. a Principal Officer in the Nigerian University System and National Universities Commission; and
  5. proxy should come with:
    1. Statement of Result;
    2. Student’s Identity Card;
    3. A Passport photograph of the candidate and that of the proxy; and
    4. Letter of Authority.

For candidates coming to claim their certificates personally, the following should be brought:

  1. Statement of Results; and
  2. Student’s Identity Card.
