Prof. Tunde Ajiboye had his first degree from University of Ibadan where he was awarded First Class (Honours) in French in 1974. He obtained his Doctorate in LinguistIque Appliquée from Université de  Nancy II, Nancy, France, in 1978. He has to his credit close to a hundred publications as books and journal articles. These publications include Catastrophe au rendez-vous, a French translation of Okediji’s Rẹrẹ run, a Yoruba dramatic piece.

He teaches in addition to French, communication and conflict in the Centre for Peace and Strategic Studies, University of Ilorin.

His research cuts across French Grammar, Translation, French Phonetics and Phonology, Oral French, Linguistics Applied to the Teaching of French Language, French Morpho-syntax, Sociolinguistics, French Usage and Registers, Communication in Peace and Conflict Management.

He has been the Director of the Institute since March 2015.
