The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Sulyman Age Abdulkareem, has said that the University is ready to collaborate with any university from any part of the world on any area of learning and research.

Prof. Abdulkareem stated this last Monday (April 8, 2019) at a workshop organised for Shariah Court judges and lecturers of Islamic Studies by a team of scholars and clerics from Makkah, Saudi Arabia, at the University of Ilorin Auditorium.

Speaking through the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Management Services),Prof. B. F. Sule, the Vice-Chancellor disclosed that the University  is running about 99 academic disciplines.

He expressed the wish that universities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia would be willing to partner with the University of Ilorin not only in organising workshop and seminars but also in the area of Medicine, Engineering, Law, and Social Sciences, among others.

The Vice-Chancellor also solicited the support of the Saudi clerics in completing the University of Ilorin Centre for Quranic Recitation and Memorisation.

The leader of the team, who is also one of the Imams of the Grand Mosque in Makkah, Sheikh Hassan AbulHameed Bukhari, led the Jumaat prayers at the Unilorin Central Mosque penultimate Friday (April 5, 2019) where he also delivered the Sermon.
