The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. AmbdulGaniyu Ambali, has said that the University of Ilorin Secondary School was relocated from the Main Campus to the heart of Ilorin city in furtherance of the University's bid to make quality education accessible to the general populace in the city

Prof. Ambali, who disclosed this while addressing members of the executive committee of Ilorin Emirate Descendant Progressive Union (IEDPU) in his office penultimate Friday (April 4, 2014), explained that the decision was taken in good faith, as the school now attracts more students from the University's host community.

The Vice-Chancellor told the IEDPU leader,  “You are our host and we are your guests. Our relationship is symbiotic. We are partners in progress.”

In his remarks, the IEDPU President, Alhaji Abdulhamid Adi, congratulated the Vice-Chancellor on his appointment and assumption of office, noting that the Union thought it right to show him support and solidarity.

Members of the IEDPU leadership, who visited the Vice-Chancellor, were Dr. Salihu Adebayo, National Vice President; Dr. Hamza I. AbdulRaheem, National Secretary; Mr. Abdulwahas Saliu, National Publicity Secretary; Mallam Moh'd Bello Lamidi; Ex-officio; Mr. Tijani Z. Orisankoko, Ex-officio; and Alhaji Mohammed M. Salman.
