Mrs. J. O. Olorunfemi (Mrs.) (Head, Computer Centre, COMSIT Directorate)

Olorunfemi J.O.Mrs. Olorunfemi, Julianah Omotayo; Head, Computer Centre was appointed into University of Ilorin on the 3rd August, 1981. This Computer Scientist had her Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Computer Science from the University of Ibadan in 1979, and M. Sc. in Management Science from the University of Ilorin in 1991.

She did her National Youth Service Corps at Computer Centre, University of Lagos. She took up an appointment at Computer Centre, University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU)) Ile–Ife. She left OAU to join Kwara State Polytechnic, in the department of Mathematics as an Assistant Lecturer in 1980 to 1981. Mrs. Olorunfemi later joined the University of Ilorin in August, 1981 as Systems Analyst I and rose to the post of Chief Systems Analyst in 1991 by dint of hard work. She was a project leader of many computer consultancy services of the University. She was a Manager of Statistical Consulting Unit, and also a Station Manager of the main campus branch of Computer Centre. She was the Acting Director of Computer Centre for seven (7) years between 1991 and 1998. She has rendered meritorious services to this great University. In 1995, during her leadership role, she was able to start the 3–months Computer Training Certificate awarding programme that is bringing regular revenue into the University coffer. This is a programme where more than six thousand (6,000) candidates had been trained with computer literacy.

She is a member of many computer professional bodies including the Nigeria Computer Society (MNCS), Computer Professional of Nigeria (MCPN), Institute of Data Processing Management (MIDPM) and Association of Computing Machinery (MACM).

She is also a member of Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU).

Born on November 23, 1955; Mrs. Olorunfemi hails from Aiyetoro Gbede in the Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

She is happily married and blessed with children.
