Dr. Adewale Rafiu is a renowned university don in the Department of Linguistics and Nigerian languages.  His areas of research interests are phonology and applied linguistics. He has published a number of scholarly articles in national and international outlets. He is an advocate for the revitalisation of endangered languages and promotion of indigenous languages in education and other vital domains. He has participated in both local and international conferences. He teaches phonology at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
