The Offa Students’ Union (OSU), University of Ilorin Chapter, will this Wednesday (July 12, 2017) hold its 4th Annual Public Lecture and the celebration of the 22nd Anniversary of the Union.

According to a statement jointly signed by the President and the General Secretary of the Union, Afolabi Abdullahi and Abdullahi Sikiru, respectively, the event will hold at the Social Sciences Lecture theatre (SSLT) by 10.00a.m.

The first segment of the Lecture, titled “The Rapid Growth and Sustainable Development of Offa Community as Collective Responsibilities for every indigene including Males and Females, Young and Old” will be delivered by the Head of the Department of Dramatic Art, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Dr Bayo Afolabi.

The second segment of the Lecture, titled “The Widespread of Corruption as a First Class Immoral Conduct of Practice and Embezzlement of Public Funds in Nigeria:  Causes and Way Out”, will be delivered by Prof. G.T. Ijaiya of the Department of Economics, University of Ilorin.

The statement made available to Unilorin Bulletin, added that the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali (OON) is the Chief Host, while the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ilorin, Prof. B. Salawu, and the Director, Unilorin Medical Services, Dr. Rasheed Odunola, will be the Fathers of the day, while the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), University of Ilorin, Prof. (Mrs.) N.Y.S. Ijaiya, will be the Mother of the day.
