Research Activities

The academic staffs in the department are pursuing various research projects in their areas of specialisation, either individually or in collaboration with other scholars. The research works cover such area as inter-group relations, Islam and the media, democracy and governance, history of science and technology, economic, social and cultural history, as well as gender and Diaspora studies. At the departmental level, a research work on the history of Ilorin is progressing satisfactorily. In addition, the department has produced the Vol. 1 No. 2 edition of its journal, Ilorin Journal of History, and the subsequent volumes will soon go to the press.
