Research Activities

Areas of research interest of academic staff in the Language Unit of the Department include: Grammar and Syntax, Applied Linguistics, Sociolinguistics, Psycholinguistics, Continuous Writing, Media Language and Journalism, Semiotics, Stylistics, Pragmatics, Semantics and Discourse Analysis.

Research interest of academic staff in the Literature Unit of the Department include:  Studies in the various genres (Poetry, Drama and Prose), Practical Theatre, African and Non-African Literary Studies and Criticisms, Oral Literature, Creative Writings in different forms, Translation Studies and Literary Theories.
