CENTREPOINT JOURNAL (Science Edition)
With the publication of Volume 17, Number 1 of Centrepoint Journal (Science Edition) in June 2011, the journal has moved to centre stage. It now has a global outlook with an expanded Editorial Board with members across the globe, with the result that it now attracts an international readership. It is also available online at the following web addresses: http://www.centrepointjournal.org and http:// www.unilorin.edu.ng/centrepoint.
Centrepoint Journal is essentially multidisciplinary in scope, hence this edition featured articles from the diverse fields of agriculture, chemistry, microbiology as well as mathematics/statistics. One of the articles published in this edition is on the detection of acute myocardial infarction using a novel technique which involves polyclonal antibody fragmentation. It is an emerging technique which holds the promise of advancing the management of heart disease thereby bringing relief to millions of people around the world who suffer from this ailment.
The Journal is still published bi-annually (in June and December). However, it is our hope that we will be able to step up to quarterly publication with Volume 18 in 2012. The deployment of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools has enabled the Editorial Board to complete the peer review of each article in less than six weeks. This means that it will be possible, in the near future, for an article to appear in print two months after it is submitted for publication. Submission of manuscripts in electronic form (usually as e-mail attachments in Microsoft Word) is a crucial element in achieving this objective. This enables us to forward manuscripts, almost immediately, to reviewers. We are working towards online submission and review of manuscripts which will further shorten the publication cycle.
It is our hope that you will assist us in spreading the good news that Centrepoint Journal has indeed metamorphosed into an International Journal.

Alore: Ilorin Journal of the Humanities publishes papers of about 6000 words from any relevant disciplines in humanities. The journal is published in English but contributions may be made in other languages.
